Discovery Club is a Saint Paul Public Schools program providing out-of-school time child care in a safe, fun, caring environment that supports children's learning and development. The program is available at the following elementary school sites to students enrolled: Adams Spanish Immersion, Crossroads, Eastern Heights, EXPO, Highland Park, J.J. Hill, Horace Mann, L'Etoile du Nord French Immersion, Nokomis, Randolph Heights, Rondo (Benjamin E. Mays, Capitol Hill, and Museum), and St. Anthony Park. This is a fee based program. For more information, call 651-632-3793. Discovery Club operates Monday through Friday throughout the school year and most of the summer.
School Year Enrollment Options:
Discovery Club offers different program components to meet the needs of the families. A child may be enrolled in any combination of components listed below (not all sites offer extended pre-kindergarten).
Before School: from 6:30 a.m. to the start of the school day. This is an informal time of self-directed and structured activities.
Extended Pre-Kindergarten: from the end of the school’s morning Pre-Kindergarten (PreK) class until the end of the regular school day. Children participate in enrichment activities designed to complement the school’s PreK program; they also eat lunch and have a scheduled rest time.
After school: from the end of the school day until 6 p.m. This is a time for the children to unwind, have a nutritious snack and socialize. Children participate in enrichment activities and projects, homework/reading time, and exercise.
School Release: from 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. on days school is closed for conferences, teachers meetings, professional days, winter break and spring break. Enrollment is optional; parents/guardians contract for these days separately.
Children may be enrolled in any combination of options; however, minimum enrollment in each option is 3 days per week. The days must be the same each week. Parents/ Guardians must drop-off and pick-up their children.
Discovery Club is closed on legal holidays (Calendar).
