Assistant Qualifications
These essential job skills andl duties are required: 1. Assist Group Leader in implementing daily lesson plans. 2. Provide direction and assistance to children with special needs. 3. In cooperation with Group Leader use appropriate, positive behavior guidance techniques. 4. Teach and model social skills. 5. Support the goals and objectives of the District and Discovery Club. 6. Carry out appropriate health and safety procedures for the protection of the children in the program. 7. Maintain appropriate contact and communications with parents/guardians of students enrolled in Discovery Club. 8. Attend recommended training and required staff meetings.
Minimum Educational Qualifications: 1. High School Diploma or GED 2. Some training in child development is preferred 3. Successful experience working with elementary age children 4. High level of energy and concern for learners 5. Willing to take direction and suggestions 6. Competence in oral, written, and human relations skills 7. Responsible work and attendance ethic
